Thanks to Kentucky Wildcats TV over on YouTube for the post game videos. First off are the highlights, followed by Coach Cal’s press conference, wrapped up with a players press conference featuring Julius Randle, James Young, and Andrew Harrison. Below each video, I’ve written up a rough transcript of what the media asked the coach and players.
QUESTIONS TO COACH CAL:
Cal, it’s all about the team’s meeting, right?
Was the idea to go to zone some today or was it foul trouble…?
Did you feel like you just needed to shake some things up today?
Cal, James had a stretch in the 2nd half where he’s kind of hitting everything yet he comes down and he can dribble into a three, but he gives it up to Aaron and he makes the three-pointer that was a better shot. Does that say something about the way you guys were playing?
Cal, what does it say about this team’s growth that when Missouri made their run they didn’t let go of the rope and they still made plays?
Cal, you see them every day. Which team do you think they are?
Did you know Clarkson and Brown were this good?
John, is there any case of good shooting cures a lot of–you guys made a high percentage of shots…
John, how did you think you did on 50-50 balls?
When Dominique took a spill there, I think Andrew and Alex just raced over to him. It looked like a pretty big change from the last game…
Cal, how is Dominique?
QUESTIONS TO JULIUS RANDLE, JAMES YOUNG, & ANDREW HARRISON:
Do you really know what happened there over the last 5 minutes?
Julius, what was the difference tonight? You guys seemed locked in from the start tonight compared to the other night.
Julius, what does it say when you got up big and they made their run but you didn’t let go and you held them off?
How much did you feel like you needed something like this after LSU?
What was that team meeting like in Alex’s hotel room down in Baton Rouge?
What did you guys think that Coach didn’t seem to think much about whether you met or didn’t meet? It didn’t seem to matter to him.
Do you feel like his message was “Show me?” You know, don’t talk about it… show me that you’re ready to play. [Julius Randle asks who told the media about the meeting, and they reply with saying that Dakari was the rat and then Julius and James just laugh.]
Did you guys know Clarkson and Brown were that good?
How big were those shots that he [Aaron Harrison] made? He made some crazy ones driving up and under there late off the glass.
Could you sense that you just might not happen defensively? That you were going to have to win this one on the other end?
Aaron, what were you thinking there at the end there especially on that reverse layup?
Julius, what kind of success did you feel you had against Missouri’s bigs today?
Is it fair to say you came out a little bit more engaged after that dunk [by Jabari Brown] late in the 2nd half?
Julius, how much contact in the 1st half when Jabari drove the baseline and you challenged the shot, there was contact, no foul, play on, and coach Haith got a technical. How much contact was there on that?
Do you always feel like, Aaron, did it feel like you guys played more like a team?
Aaron, you and your brother both talked about sort of taking on the challenges finding little things to motivate yourself going into a game and when it’s a big match-up… people might say this might be the best guard trio in the league here at Missouri. Did you come into this feeling like it was a challenge?
What was last night like for you? I understand you guys had to land in St. Louis and take a bus over here. You didn’t have much time to prepare for a 1:00 PM game. That was a different scenario. Can you just talk about what that was like?
Cause there wasn’t much time–you just have to go out and play?
