The Ole Miss pre-game videos are here, courtesy of Kentucky Wildcats TV over on YouTube. Coach Robic fills in for Cal, and the players being interviewed this time around include Aaron Harrison and Jarrod Polson. One thing that was interesting about what everyone said was that the coaches, staff, and players have been very positive since the loss to Florida, and Coach Robic is very impressed with everyone’s attitude.
Before taking questions, Coach Robic first addressed the media by saying that yesterday was a really good, up-beat, and positive day for the team. Robic states that “it was the most positive that I’ve seen Coach Cal and our staff after a defeat in a long time.”
QUESTIONS TO COACH ROBIC:
John, how important after a game like that where your players talked about statements and, you know, kind of showing the country on GameDay and all that… to keep everybody up-beat rather than it seems it would be easy to get demoralized a little bit.
John, you said you watched the last 11 minutes of that second half. Did Florida–offensively I think they scored 13 or 14 possessions, however you want to count it–was there one theme to what they did and what you didn’t do, or was it just individual plays and executing those plays?
How hard is that to do for any team [score on every possession like Florida did] over an 11 minute stretch?
What are you personally most encouraged about from that game?
Do you expect a big bounce back game at Ole Miss?
Is the conference championship–Is that… [cut off by Robic]
Julius only got 7 shots–I think that’s just 1 more than his season low. Did Florida do something to take him away or are you guys not looking for him enough?
On the rebound that Prather got near the end in the crowd. Was that a timing where just his timing was a little better, or was it effort?
How good of a team is Ole Miss at home, and are they a different team at home?
Have you ever seen a player with a green light like Henderson?
Is he [Henderson] an “x factor” kind of guy?
John, where is Aaron [Harrison] at right now with those shots not falling?
QUESTIONS TO AARON HARRISON:
They didn’t have any mistakes, right? I mean down the stretch Florida… How impressive was that to you to see a team hold it together like that?
Did it ever feel like this whole process is really condensed? Like your window is very small? That Florida team as had years to sort of figure all of those things out and put it together. Most people think that a lot of the guys on this team have this one season–now 6 regular season games to figure it out.
Is this just one season for you guys? Do you think this is just a one season window?
Is the SEC championship…? How important is that to you guys, and how realistic is that now with Florida up 3 [games]?
How much have you thought about not coming back?
Do you guys monitor draft stock chatter?
Aaron, where is your game at personally right now?
QUESTIONS TO JARROD POLSON:
What’s been the mood of the team since Saturday night?
What sort of things did coach talk about yesterday?
Do you think it will be tough to bounce back from that loss?
Mississippi has lost back-to-back games. How desperate do you think they’re going to be tomorrow night? Who’s going to be more desperate of the two teams?
Is it complicated–I mean it is a challenge going on the road, you’re playing a team where it’s an important place now–they’ve got a winning SEC record… Does that help get your mind off of Florida that you’ve got a good team ahead of you?
What do you remember from that first game just a couple of weeks ago?
