The date was December 8th, 2001 and the Cats were battling the Heels. Tayshaun Prince started the game as good as anyone you’ll ever see start a college basketball game–by taking the first five shots of the game for the Wildcats and hitting all five of them from three point range. The first video shows the five consecutive threes synced up with the radio broadcast, and the second video below shows the first few minutes of the game with the TV announcers. Maybe James Young will come out tomorrow firing like Prince did 12 years ago? Tayshaun was his favorite player growing up–not to mention they are both left-handed sharp shooters.
Tayshaun’s numbers so far this season for the Memphis Grizzlies (that’s still strange to think he’s not with the Pistons) have been pretty low. Up to this point, he is averaging 6.1 points per game, 3 boards, 1.6 assists, shooting at 40.2% from the field, and playing 27 minutes per game. Even with the low numbers, everyone knows that Prince is clutch and will hit the shots when they’re needed.
