I think enough time has passed now for everyone to have seen the big game against Louisville one way or another, so these videos shouldn’t be spoilers for anyone. Enjoy videos from KYWildcatsTV on YouTube of highlights of the game, Coach Cal’s post-game press conference, and player interviews with the media featuring Alex Poythress, James Young, and Andrew Harrison.
Here are some of the questions the players were asked:
QUESTIONS TO ALEX POYTHRESS:
Alex, you seemed amped up today, was this win big for you?
So yelling after that dunk… was that more of Cal’s message to you all that body language needs to be better?
Alex how big was this win?
Do you feel like those big games helped you to prepare? Obviously, John said this is why we play Michigan State, North Carolina, Baylor, Providence.
Do you fee like those games did prepare you for this stage?
In your mind, how much difference was there today versus those other games–cause there were just 4 or 5 points either way?
QUESTIONS TO JAMES YOUNG:
Something along the lines of What makes shooters keep shooting when they’re not going in?
James, when you see the one that went in after six misses… do you see the correlation between your shots and the accuracy?
There have been a lot of questions about the maturity of this team going in and then Julius goes out. What kept you guys focused?
How was this atmosphere different than what you’ve seen today?
How much of the offense had to change with Julius out?
Can you talk about the defensive match-up the second half? You had a lot more of Jones and really took him out of it. And [discuss] what you tried to do there?
How important was this to validate how good you guys think you are?
QUESTIONS TO ANDREW HARRISON:
Julius came back in and tried to go, and he looked in agony hobbling off the floor. What were your thoughts at that point when you saw him?
Was there a point when you knew that he was done for the rest of the game?
Did their press bother you at all?
How did the crowd help you, if at all?
You said that Cal didn’t mention about Julius being out… did you guys talk about it at any moment and say, “Hey, we’ve got to step it up out here without him?”
The difference between this game and the other 3 ranked opponents that you guys played?
Cal said last week that Louisville plays way harder than you guys did. Do you think you played as hard or harder today?
