Once again, Kentucky Wildcats TV over on YouTube have posted their pre-game press conference video with Coach Cal. You can watch the video below. We’ve written up the questions the media asked Cal, which you can take a look at below the video.
QUESTIONS TO COACH CAL:
Cal, you had said the team has learned to win with everybody except for without Willie at this point. Is he your most irreplaceable guy?
Cal, Aaron was just saying that they got to know each other as a team over this time–of course they’ve been together for a while–but what’s the difference…?
Where can you see [improvement], maybe not off the court, but when they get back together on the court?
John, with those two road games looming, how important is this one to get off on the right step? And what are you looking to see besides the “W”?
Tell us about how some of the players have been doing.
How tough is that when you’re 13 games in and you’ve kind of figured out some things rotation wise… how difficult is it just for you to get those guys [Marcus Lee and Derek Willis] in the game?
Did you see anybody taking charge off the court during this break?
You talked about bad habbits. Andrew said his worst habbits are standing straight up, not moving enough when he doesn’t have the ball. Has he identified those correctly?
Does that simple sort of mental trick with them [think pass when you have the ball, score when you don’t have it] sort of flipped the switch?
John, it sounds like Dominique Hawkins has been able… [Coach Cal interrupts by saying “I wasn’t done with my thought…”]
How difficult has it been to instill in these guys what Kentucky on their chests means–that bullseye? With Dominique being from Kentucky, he probably already knows at least to some degree…
Is he [Dominique Hawkins] good for the team because of sort of that energy? It seems like the guys, when he dunked on Marcus, it seemed like everyone else got a lot of joy out of seeing him do well.
Before this last period, how good was this team in getting in that extra work?
