Another Sunday, another new episode of This is Kentucky Basketball.
Jarrod Polson hosts this episode. It starts off with Ray “Rock” Oliver discussing the team’s weight training program. He talks about how most of the incoming guys have never had a structured weight lifting program, and then compares their progress to water being poured on weeds.
The first featured game this week is the January 11th match-up at Vanderbilt. We get to see Coach Cal’s pre-game thoughts to the team in the locker room and highlights of the game synced up to the Tom Leach radio broadcast.
We also get to see a few questions/answers from a recent Coach Cal Mailbag episode.
Polson answers the following #AskACat questions from fans:
What is your favorite part of gameday? Do you have any pregame rituals?
Other than winning the national title, what is your favorite UK memory?
What was your favorite part of the Ethiopia trip? How has it changed you?
Coach Robic takes us through another edition of Inside the Play. Like last week, it’s a play from the Louisville game.
The “Meet the Cat” feature in this episode is Julius Randle. We learn that his biggest college adjustment has been spending money because he likes to eat a lot. He chose his jersey number (#30) because it was his mom’s number, and his mom is his best friend. The best movie he’s seen this year is The Butler. His dream job is being a lawyer. He doesn’t watch much TV, but he would like to make a guest appearance on College Gameday or Dancing with the Stars.
The “Play of the Week” for this episode is Andrew Harrison’s 3-point shot to send the Arkansas game into overtime.
The episode ends with Coach Cal’s pre-game thoughts to the team at Arkansas and highlights of the Arkansas game once again synced up to the Tom Leach radio broadcast.
