On today’s episode of This is Kentucky Basketball, Julius Randle plays the host and does an exceptional job. The team had a session of social media training where they learned the dos and don’ts of social media, and how what they put out there can help or hurt their “brand.”
The first featured game for this episode is the January 18th match-up in Rupp against Tennessee. We get to see an extended version of the game’s highlights, synced up to the Tom Leach radio broadcast, followed by Coach Cal’s thoughts to the team in the locker room after the game.
Several clips from one of Coach Cal’s recent mailbag specials are shown as well where Cal discusses Andrew Harrison’s growth, his new book that will be released in April, and the possibility of this team having a breakfast club.
Julius Randle answers several questions from fans via the Twitter hashtag #AskACat. The questions include:
How do you mentally prepare yourself for games knowing you’re going to be double and triple teamed always?
What your favorite moment as a Wildcat thus far?
With you making that 3 against UT, you think you’ll have more plays set up for you to take more of those kinds of shots?
Coach Payne takes us “Inside the Play” to breakdown a play from the Vanderbilt game.
We get to “Meet A Wildcat” and learn more about E.J. Floreal. E.J. tells us that he chose #24 because he’s had it all his life, his favorite movie of 2013 was World War Z, his dream job is being a sports analyst, he would like to make a guest TV appearance on Family Guy, and he’d like to play H-O-R-S-E against LeBron or Mike because he wants to play against the best.
The episode ends with the second featured game, this one against Texas A&M in Rupp on January 21st. We get to see Coach Cal’s pre-game thoughts to the team in the locker room followed by full UK highlights of the game synced up to the Tom Leach radio broadcast.
