Another Sunday, another episode of “This is Kentucky Basketball.” The host for today’s episode is E.J. Floreal. The episode starts off showing Jarrod Polson getting his high school jersey retired at West Jessamine, where the entire team and Coach Cal attended to show their support.
The first featured game for this show is the January 25th match-up against Georgia. We get to see Coach Cal’s pre-game thoughts to the team in the locker room, followed by full game highlights synced up to the Tom Leach radio broadcast.
We get to see a Coach Cal’s recent mailbag episode where Cal answers the following questions:
What’s the first thing you look for in a recruit?
What are the assistant coaches’ responsibilities during a game?
E.J. answers questions that fans asked from the Twitter #MeetACat hashtag. The questions include:
Did you grow up a Kentucky basketball fan?
What’s the toughest part about practice each day?
What’s the biggest change you’ve experienced this season as a player?
Coach Kenny Payne takes us through another edition of “Inside the Play.” He shows us a play from the Tennessee game where Julius Randle penetrates towards the lane and then kicks it out to James Young for a three-pointer.
We get to know more about Tod Lanter with this week’s “Meet a Wildcat” feature. We learn that Tod wanted jersey #12, but Ryan Harrow had it last year, so he looked at what was left and went with #21. His dream job outside of sports would be to own his own company. He would like to play Adam Sandler in a game of H-O-R-S-E. If he was president for a day, he would lower taxes. And finally, Tod would like to make a guest TV appearance on CSI.
The second featured game is the January 28th match-up at LSU. Once again we get Cal’s pre-game thoughts to the team in the locker room and highlights of the game synced up to the Tom Leach radio broadcast.
