Derek Willis hosts today’s edition of This is Kentucky Basketball. The episode starts off showing highlights from UK’s senior night festivities on March 4th before the Alabama game tipped off. They used the same video that the great YouTube folks at Kentucky Wildcats TV posted on March 5th.
The first featured game for this episode is the disappointing loss on March 1st at South Carolina. We get to see Coach Cal’s pre-game locker room thoughts to the team followed by UK highlights of the game synced up to the Tom Leach radio broadcast.
Coach Cal’s mailbag episode from this past week is shown, where he answers the following fan questions:
What has been your favorite part about coaching this team?
What rules would you like to see changed in Div. 1 basketball?
How much do you and your staff look at advanced stats, like plus/minus?
Derek Willis also answers the following fan questions submitted via the #AskACat Twitter hashtag.
Did you grow up a Kentucky fan?
What players did you admire growing up and model your game after?
What is your pregame ritual?
Coach Robic takes us through another edition of “Inside the Play,” where he breaks down UK’s zone offense against LSU at Rupp.
For this week’s “Meet a Wildcat,” we get to learn more about Jon Hood. Jon chose jersey number 4 because it was J.J. Reddick’s college jersey number [yuck]. The celebrity he’d like to play in a game of H-O-R-S-E is Mark Walburn. He’d like to make a guest TV appearance on Law & Order (wants to be one of the good guys though). The best movie he’s seen this year is “We are the Millers.” If he were the President for a day, he would get rid of speeding tickets–for just a day.
The second featured game in this episode is the March 4th senior night match-up against Alabama. We once again get to see Coach Cal’s pre-game locker room thoughts to the team followed by UK highlights synced up to the Tom Leach radio broadcast.
