Tod Lanter hosts today’s episode of This is Kentucky Basketball. The episode begins by showing the recent Kentucky Wildcats TV YouTube video where Cal’s voice is in the background trying to motivate the guys to compete and play better while we get to see slow motion highlights of the Cats.
The first featured game is the March 8th match-up at Florida. We get to see Coach Cal’s pre-game locker room thoughts to the team followed by first half UK highlights of the game synced up to the Tom Leach radio broadcast.
In a bit of a twist, instead of a Coach Cal mailbag episode, we get to see highlights of the 1994 SEC championship game where Kentucky beat Arkansas.
Tod Lanter answers fans questions via the #AskACat Twitter hashtag. The questions include:
Who is your favorite person to play against in practice?
What has been your favorite moment at UK?
What’s the best thing about being a UK player?
Does it bother you when a fan asks for a picture?
Coach Payne takes us through another edition of “Inside the Play” where he breaks down what happened at Florida when Randle got double-teamed and he quickly kicked the ball out for an open three.
We also get to “Meet a Wildcat” and learn more about Andrew Harrison. Andrew chose jersey number 5 because he’s always had it–he doesn’t remember why he chose it, he’s just always had it. His dream job outside of sports is to have a tennis shoe or clothing store. He would like to make a guest TV appearance on… he can’t think of anything, but comes back later on and says Law and Order. He would like to play LeBron James in a game of H-O-R-S-E, and he thinks he could beat LeBron. If he were President for a day, he would call off school for a day.
The episode ends with second half highlights of the Kentucky at Florida game followed by some of Coach Cal’s post game press conference.
